It’s all in how you see it!

There’s a new season among us: FALL. This happens to be my favorite season of the year. Think about it: football, cooler temps outside (this is very welcomed here in the south), sweaters & cardigans, booties, and you guessed it - Fall Eyewear!

Okay, I made the last one up, but I believe that eyewear has a season also. Seasonal eyewear is like seasonal footwear. Like shoes, it all depends on the material & color.

Simply put, its just in your perspective of what is considered a fall color & material and its time for the seasonal switch up!

My favorite eyewear spice of fall is a tortoiseshell-colored frame. Ooowee, I love them with an oversized burnt orange cardigan! That’s my fall go-to, but I digress.

Tortoiseshell glasses are made to mimic the look of a real tortoise shell and come in a number of color combinations. The colors range from ivory, amber, dark amber, rose gold, a light blue hue, and black & white. With such a wide variety of colors, tortoiseshell eyewear looks amazing on any skin tone.

Although my favorite season to wear tortoiseshell is in the fall, it can be worn during any season. To me, no matter the color combination of tortoiseshell, this style just stands out during the fall. In this week’s issue, we’ll focus on ivory tortoiseshell frames.

I’m a girl who loves a classic, solid white button down and jeans.

Correction: any solid white type for that matter. It goes with everything and every eye frame. Adding a pair of ivory tortoiseshell frames (regardless of shape) adds a fall-spice flare to the outfit. This type of frame is also classic with greys, navy, yellow/gold, orange, and burgundy. Think about a fall tree line under a clear sky on a sunny day. Beautiful!

I often hear people say that tortoiseshell frames tend to blend in on more melanin-rick skin tones and don’t stand out like most statement eyewear. I own ivory, amber, and dark amber tortoiseshell frames. The ivory hue spices up the frame becasue the amber hues can make the frame look black from distance. For me, it all depends on Justine and the outfit for the pop. If the haircut is bomb and the outfit is really cute, the frames will be the cherry on top! Again - perspective!

THIS WEEK’S EYEWEAR:

Frame #7819335 in Ivory from www.zennioptical.com - Purchased for only $35.95

Earlier I stated that I love a white top and pictured here is literally today’s outfit.

This classic white V-neck tee paired with distressed jeans, my J.Crew blazer with cuffed sleeves, and low white chucks & anklet embody comfort and fun while in the office.

During this southern weather transition, the blazer is warmth during the cool mornings and removed for warm afternoons.

For some razzle-dazzle between any season and event, switch the shoes to heels & a pop of color on the lips. In this outfit, I can go from the office, to my son’s soccer game, to an evening out!

The ivory tortoiseshell frame keeps the outfit classic and calm - perfect for the into to fall weather!

That 9-5: Uh yeah! Did you see the picture above? LOL

Girl’s Day Out: Indeed!

BAE Night: Worn all the time on laid back date nights!

Loungin’: Absolutely!

Overall, I give these glasses a 4 out of 5. Although these are a fall favorite, I still wear these frames during other seasons. I love the shape, but I’m not a huge fan of the arm color.

Everywear is all about perspective and confidence!

Even in different seasons, your choice of eyewear should change just like your wardrobe. Tortoiseshell frames can be worn by the eyewear enthusiast like me all the way to the eyewear minimalist because of the variety of color combinations and frame shapes. Enjoy the fall weather and get some tortoiseshell frames!

Challenge: adjust your perspective this week on every aspect of your life!
