The world is seen better through rose colored glasses!

I find myself calling my dream team when I have to make any big decision: I pray first, then I go to my husband, my parents, and my sister. Their advice is priceless. Needless to say, I call on my mom and sister when it comes to attire & eyewear. You see, my mom taught us that simple statement pieces are classic and timeless. You can expand your entire wardrobe with simple pieces that transform for any occasion. Usually, my mom is all for any frame I choose. My dear sister - well she’s hard to break - LOL. She’s a true minimalist and I absolutely adore that about her! She always finds classic/neutral pieces in fashion that can be paired with anything, and I do mean anything. From dainty accessories to small yet functional handbags, my sister is a true minimalist. Currently, she sports her favorite navy wire frames. My mom and I share the classic/neutral method, so we always add more razzle-dazzle. For my mom, its normally jewelry, purses, or shoes. For me, you guessed it, eyewear & haircuts.

Recently, my sister and I were conversing about necessory and she mentioned that all of my frames are statement pieces. It hit me like a ton of bricks when she said, “You know you love those type of frames, but I keep it simple”. She was right! I never took a moment to talk about frames for the minimalist or take a trip down the minimalist-eye wear road.

In this issue, we will talk about those that love to K.I.S.S! Those that always Keep it Simple Silly!

While conversing with my sister about her current eyewear, the recurring terms she used to describe her search for eyewear was function, modern but clean, basic colors, and not necessarily trendy. My daughter, who is also a minimalist, chose a modern but clean gold frame when choosing her current eye wear. Both ladies only own one pair of frames because their philosophy is “I can only wear one pair at a time, so why buy more than one pair?”

Some minimalists do not believe that eyewear is a part of their definition. For example, although my glasses do not directly define me, I believe they are an intricate part of who I am. I embrace that part of me, so much so, I use my frame style as a characteristic. For a minimalist that wears prescription eyewear, the frame is simply to help him or her see. The focus is the function and color that will blend with any outfit. Nothing more.

I must admit, I was so frustrated with my daughter when choosing her current frames. We were in-store and I had about two baskets full of frames for her to try on. She picked up one tortoiseshell, rectangular frame, tried them on, and said “Done”. The eye wear enthusiast in me wanted the true minimalist in her to be so excited about frames! That was not fair. How could I expect her to be like me, when she lives in her truth! I had to let her be great. Choosing to wear frames without the flash and color is who she is. She just wanted to see clearly! Even now, I find myself searching through online frames for her because now, I understand her logic when choosing eye wear. It made me realize life can be fun without all the razzle-dazzles. Simply put, whether you’re an enthusiast or minimalist, eye wear is easy to find, functional, & fun to wear!

THIS WEEK’S EYEWEAR:

Frame “Maggie” in red from www.wherelight.com - Color sold out on website, but comes in a really cute pink rose color.

Each season I pick a color of the season. I decided that rose/red will be one of my fall colors this year. I bought these simple red rounds for a change up. They are definitely different from my go-to cat-eye frames. The simplicity of the frame and gold accents are perfect on days I want to keep it clean. I’m always complimented on the color and frame style. Being a minimal frame, these glasses can be paired with anything for any occasion. I have worn them to a wedding, I often wear them to work, and a night out is fun in them as well. Ironically, I actually adore the simplicity of these glasses. It’s true: seeing the world through rose colored glasses is fun!

All About Maggie:

That 9-5: Yes, they are very lightweight & comfortable.

Girl’s Day Out: Of course. Even my sister said these glasses were really cute!

BAE Night: Absolutely!

Loungin’: I do this often in these frames!

Overall, I give these glasses 5 out of 5. So much so, that I recently ordered these frames in the rose colored pictured above also. The gold accents are so cute & classic. It gives me just the perfect amount of umph I’m always looking for.

See, even the content this week was kept to a minimum - LOL! Shout out to my sister & daughter for reminding me to keep it simple. I love you gals!

So dear minimalist: there are cute and affordable frames for you online as well. Take a moment to browse any of the featured sites I have mentioned in previous issues. Who knows, you may just find the necessory just for you!

Until next week and daily on Instagram @_necessory_

Stay safe and sill wear your mask!
